Comprehensive Editing

In a class for editing, this assignment was one of my toughest! The Comprehensive Editing assignment began with a dense document. There was no narrative and seemingly no audience, just a long list of Alcohol, Tobacco, and other drug laws. The task of this was to break it down and present it to a chosen audience. Immediately, I thought this document would work best on college campuses, to provide a quick guide for curious students.

This assignment challenged me to think about what good editing was. How far could I trim this document before it became illegible? This assignment also challenged me to apply knowledge from other classes. I ran into issues early on because I wanted to fit so much information into a brochure. It was not feasible, and I had to rethink my approach.
